Autrans Overview

Region Wide Comparison

Area Profile

A small mountain town on the western fringe of the Alps. There are also facilities for ski jumping, dog-sledding and ice skating. Safe Alpine skiing, child-friendly, wide trails cut through woods, avalanche-safe.

Autrans has two affordable ski areas, Le Claret at the heart of the village and the larger La Sure ski area. A new blue piste, Les Marmottes, accessed by the chairlift in the la Sure sector, opened recently.

A major cross-country centre and a home to the French Nordic Skiing Championships, the 1968 Olympic events were staged here and there's an annual race of 7 - 10,000 cross-country skiers. The 200-9 Masters world Championships are hosted here.
