I have skied Wachusett for the last three years. I would rate myself as advanced in my age category (65 +). As a youngster, I skied all over New England with my family. I focused on cross country for 25 years until my daughter moved to Lake Tahoe, and insisted I get back into downhill. I now split my winter skiing both Tahoe and Wachusett.
Wachusett is a terrific ski area, and I try to get there at least once every week or two during the season. The area is unique for southern New England, and only a two hour ride from my home near Mystic, Ct. I can get there when the area opens, and be home by early evening to feed the dog! As a senior, the lift ticket is quite reasonable. I enjoy the open slopes which one may find during the week, and the lodge has a variety of seating. The upstairs dining is truely excellent, a fine menu, not too pricey and a very friendly staff. I look forward to getting back into the action this season. Thank you Polar Spring!
