how true! as a ski instructor myself with 3 kids, my story is similar. with our first, we tried to push it at 3. when i asked what she liked best about ski school, she said "the tea party". i realized that you cannot make your children want to ski. now, 20 years later, i have 3 kids all of whom ski very, very well. two instructors and 1 instructor helper who does better hop turns at 13 than i can do! introduce them to the sport, on their terms, when they are ready. keep it fun always, never forced. think of "planting seeds". one day they will bloom, you just never know when. parents who push their little ones, often push them right out of the sport. a child wants to ski will progress much faster than a child who is not ready yet. remember, it's about them, not about us. vicarious ego gratification is harmful to the young ones.
