Ski Beech, N.C. is upgrading a little of everything.

"The big news is that we're starting this season with a new management structure," Gil Adams of Beech said. "Locally, that will mean something to our guests."

He said the resort has two new PistenBully grooming machines and new staff to run them.

The area also will replace Lift 7 on Oz, an older double chair, with a new fixed-grip Doppelmayr CTEC quad.

Beech is using fill dredged from the area's snowmaking pond to restore a family tubing area on College Park. Crews also are creating a terrain park by re-grading a former tube run, and changing an existing terrain park into a beginner terrain park.

Less visible is a major project to replace 40-year-old drinking water lines at the area.
