Colorado skiing

We have skiied extensively, mainly in the large French resorts (3 valleys, Val D-Isere, Alpe D'Huez etc). For this winter, the cheap dollar has inspired us to widen out horizons and we have booked flights to Denver. The resorts look a lot smaller than the European resorts, both in terms of number of runs and in terms of length of runs, with the typical drop being about 3000'. However, the impression given is that skiing is in bowls rather than on specific pistes. Can anyone give me any pointers as to which resort(s) we should be looking at, and any other differences between French and American skiing experineces. We all ski (no boards) and really ski at the black run level, with a bit of dabbling off-piste. No interest in lessons or family facilities, just skiing. Thanks

Is that trip still on? Looks like the pound is falling fast against the dollar

Thanks for the comments guys. Looking forward to the trip.

It looks like it is a good deal colder in Colorado than it is in France, so I think I will be buying a few extra layers.

Now if only the dollar stays cheap ...
