Snow Reporter Comments: Good Morning Skiers and Riders! This is Caitlin with your 5 am snow report for Thursday, April 18. Remember the easiest way to get up to date information is on the Steamboat app or website. At Mid Mountain, we’ve had ½ inch of new snow in the past 24 hours. At the Summit, we’ve had 2 new inches of snow. Our Mid mountain base is 63 inches, the temperature is 30 degrees, the winds are 7 miles per hour from the West, with Partly Cloudy skies. The Summit base is 113 inches, the temperature is 20 degrees, the winds 2 miles per hour from the Southwest. The base temperature is 33 degrees. We will be skiing and riding on 12 lifts, 136 runs, and 2,675 acres on Packed Powder/Spring snow. It’s the final countdown- only four more days to get your turns in. And this week is sure to surprise with awesome spring conditions. Did you know that we had 25 inches of snow in April this year, compared with 26 inches last winter? Don’t forget it’s springtime and mountain conditions can change quickly. Steamboat Ski Resort Overview Steamboat Ski Resort is a premier ski destination famous for its Champagne Powder®. The mountain is also known for its unique aspen glades, offering up some of the best tree skiing in North America. Founded in 1963, Steamboat Ski Resort is situated across seven mountain peaks within the Park Range and overlooks the Yampa Valley. The area has a rich western heritage and cowboy vibe that's celebrated throughout many annual events held on the mountain and in town, including the Cowboy Downhill and the Steamboat Winter Carnival. One of the largest ski resorts in Colorado, Steamboat Springs has been dubbed Ski Town, U.S.A. ®, due to the fact that more Olympians call Steamboat home than any other ski resort. It’s one of Colorado's best family-friendly ski resorts. Steamboat Ski Resort has over 4.6 square miles (2,965 acres) of skiable terrain, 169 named trails, and 18 lifts. The base elevation is 6,900 feet, and the summit elevation is 10,568 feet. The vertical rise is 3,668 feet. The resort is located just outside of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It’s about a 3-hour drive from Denver and an hour and a half from Summit County.
