Arc’teryx Iser Jacket review. OnTheSnow reviewed this shell jacket as part of its 2016/2017 Jacket Buyers' Guide.

Favorite Features: The Iser is billed as Arc'teryx's resort shell, offering added comfort and protection (see “GORE C-KNIT backer technology”) and features (see pass pocket and insulated collar) not found in their minimalist backcountry offerings. The Iser delivers weather protection with three layer Gore-Tex, taped seams and an in-house water repellent treatment. If paired with a medium-weight mid layer, the Iser should do well to keep you toasty when the jet stream favors your favorite resort.

Room for Improvement: The internal zip pocket is located closer to the bottom hem than the chest, which could make running headphones or accessing essential items tricky.

Fit: The slim fit and articulated design delivers first-rate range of motion without excess material. The size large tested fit true to size and the helmet compatible “DropHood” provided full coverage.

Manufacturer Description: Designed for the descent-focused demands of on-area skiing and boarding, the streamlined Iser Jacket delivers protection and performance. Constructed from waterproof, windproof 3L GORE-TEX® fabric with GORE® C-KNIT™ backer technology, the Iser is light, quiet, comfortable and has excellent breathability. The helmet compatible DropHood™ provides full coverage with an integrated insulated collar for extra warmth and protection. Side zips offer ventilation, and a powder skirt seals out driven snow.
