Obermeyer Proton Jacket review. OnTheSnow reviewed this insulated jacket as part of its 2016/2017 Jacket Buyers' Guide.

Favorite Features: Obermeyer’s Proton jacket is a sleek looking insulator that packs a variety of features to help it excel on and off the slopes. Taped seams, waterproof/breathable fabric and an integrated powder skirt were standouts. We loved the wrist gaiters and removable, helmet compatible hood.

Room for Improvement: Three different variations of black and grey are offered for colorways, which could be an issue for the skier looking to make a statement.

Fit: The Proton fit true to size, delivering an athletic fit. We felt the armpits were a bit snug, which could be uncomfortable with additional layering. The “Full-Motion Stretch Core Lining” did a good job maximizing movement.

Manufacturer Description: Each Proton Jacket is constructed with a unique fabric for added versatility and performance. Fully seam taped construction and Primaloft insulation are added weather protection technologies that help push the jacket from off slope winter protector to on piste performance master. HydroBlock® waterproof/breathable technology adds the needed layer of weather proof protection.
